5 Uses of Tadalafil the Generic Name of Cialis

Tadalafil is the  generic drug marketed under the brand name of  Cialis. It belongs to the class of PDE-5 inhibitor. Tadalafil treats erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.

Erectile dysfunction:  It is an oral drug which treats impotence in men. Impotence is an inability to attain or maintain a penile erection. It is one of the most common problem faced by men at a particular age or in old age. This disturbs his sexual life , therefore his happiness.

They said that clinical trial testing confirmed that it was effective for up to  36 hours. It got the FDA approval in 2003. In October 6, 2011 it even got approval from FDA as drug for the treatment of BPH (this is not the case for any other ED pills )

DOSAGE:

It is available in the form of 20mg, 40 mg, and 60 mg strength tablets. Take it with or without food, swallow it as a whole. For ED take it prior to sexual activity.  take one in every 1 ½ days.

WORKING:

ED: During sexual arousal, blood fills the blood vessels in the penis. This causes the penis erection. The blood vessels bring maximum blood to penis and fills it with blood. At the same time the blood vessels which take away decreases in size. So small amount of blood is remove from penis. The enzyme cGMP is responsible for the increase and decrease in size of blood vessels. It helps to return penis to its normal position too, when erection ends. Another enzyme PDE-5 destroys enzyme cGMP. This leads the Blood vessels to returns to normal size.  Blood leaves penis and ends the erection of the penis. Tadalafil prevents enzyme PDE-5 from destroying enzyme cGMP. This allows it to stay erect for longer. The penis remains full of blood for longer time leading to increase sexual activity .

BPH:  The working of Tadalafil in case of BPH isn’t clear. PDE-5 is present in the muscle of the bladder and the prostate. Scientist believe that increase and decrease in size of muscles due to tadalafil.
