Breast cancer is a condition that arises from the cells of the breast. It also referred to a tumor in the breast. It is the second common cancer occurs in women aside from skin cancer.

This condition most happens in women. But it can also occur in men. Breast cancer begins with a formation of small lump. It can spread through different areas within the breast, to the lymph nodes. And to the other organs. The tumor in your breast can invade tissues such as the chest wall and skin.

This condition is treatable if noticed early. But once it begins to spread, the treatment becomes difficult.

STAGES OF BREAST CANCER

The following are the stages of cancer from mild to severe condition.

  • Stage 0 – it means you’ve been diagnosed early.
  • Stage I – this stage the cancer called as Invasive. It can attack healthy tissues.
  • Stage IA – it means cancer spreads into fatty breast tissue.
  • Stage IB – some tiny cancer cells found in few lymph nodes.
  • Stage II – in this stage cancer has grown.
  • IIA – the tumor in the breast is still small. But it can spread as many as three.
  • IIB – the tumor is bigger at this stage.
  • Stage III – cancer didn’t spread to the brain & other organs. But this is hard to fight.
  • IIIA – cancer has spread into your deep lymph nodes.
  • IIIB – The tumor has grown in your chest wall around your breast.
  • IIIC – cancer has spread into your collarbone. This stage is cancerous.
  • Stage IV – This stage called as “Metastatic”. Cancer spreads beyond the body where it was first found. The affected parts are the bones, lungs, brain, and liver.
