Fluvoxamine

Fluvoxamine is an anti-depressant medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of several psychiatric conditions like:

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD
  • Social Anxiety Disorders (SAD)
  • Panic disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Other major depression

Fluvoxamine helps decrease unwanted persistent thoughts and urges to perform a repetitive task in both adult and children with OCD. It allows patients with SAD to interact with other people. It has also been used for the management of Bulimia nervosa and obesity.

Fluvoxamine belongs to the group of drug known selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). It works by restoring the balance of serotonin in the brain. It is believed that people with depression have abnormal serotonin level in the brain.

Why Buy Fluvoxamine?

Fluvoxamine is well tolerated. It is approved by the U.S FDA for the treatment of OCD since 1994. It is, in fact, the first SSRI registered for the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in children. It does not cause sedation and any cognitive impairment. It has no significant effect on body weight when taken in excess amount.

How to Take Fluvoxamine?

Take Fluvoxamine exactly as prescribed. The usual starting dose for an adult is 50 mg a day before bedtime. Your doctor may increase the dose by 50 mg every 4 to 7 days. The maximum recommended dose is 30 mg a day.

For children 8 to 17 years of age, the initial dose is 25 mg a day before bedtime.  The dose may be increased by 25 mg a day. The maximum recommended dose is 300 mg a day.

Take Fluvoxamine by mouth. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. Continue taking the medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your physician. A sudden stop may lead to unwanted withdrawal side effects like extreme worry, confusion and agitation. If you wish to stop the medication, consult with your doctor. Your doctor may gradually decrease your medication so you won’t have to experience withdrawal symptoms. Take Fluvoxamine regularly to get the most benefit.
